Nicolodian (Modern Deck Tech)-Nicol Bolas Tribal

Continuing on my journey of decks that hold within them an improbable win.  Utilizing a fairly well known ramp combo, I present Nicolodian...a Nicol Bolas tribal deck.  The two primary combo pieces are Bloom Tender and Scuttlemutt.

Once these two are on the battlefield, you can target Scuttlemutt's second ability toward Bloom Tender.  Name all of colors and tap Bloom Tender for one each of Plains, Forest, Swamp, Mountain and Island.  This is our primary ramp into the Nicol Bolas planeswalkers.  To dig these creatures out of the deck we have four support cards: Search for Azcanta, Traverse the Ulvenwald and Trophy Mage.   
Search for Azcanta will help you dig through your deck and get unnecessary cards into your graveyard in order to trigger Traverse the Ulvenwald's delirium.  
With that, you can dig out one of your combo pieces if you don't have it.  If you do have it, you can dig for a missing land.  

Trophy Mage will trigger upon entrance into the battlefield and allow you to search out your Scuttlemutt.  

The planeswalkers you are ramping into are as follows:



If it's getting late and you are having trouble finding some planeswalkers, added in the deck is Deploy the Gatewatch.  This will allow you to look at the top 7 cards of your library and put up to 2 planeswalkers onto the battlefield.

That makes up the guts of the main deck.  See the full list below.  The sideboard is, well...rather "charming".  It includes both the Golgari and Dawn Charms.  These can be added to help regulate the pace of your opponent's deck.  Additionally, the sideboard has Heroic Intervention for burn decks and Immortal Servitude for board wipe decks.  This will get your Bloom Tenders back onto the battlefield.

Taking a look at the new mechanic ASCEND, which offers you the 'City's Blessing' if you control 10 or more permanents. Five Color Horses (M19 Standard)-A Deck of Epic Proportions Part 1

MTG Content Creator Awards and Ethics

I would like to first sincerely apologize for advertising a nominee who was fired by Star City Games for allegedly sexually harassing women.  My ignorance on the subject was quickly identified, but it was too late to take back any of the additional pain that I caused or could have caused by  irresponsibly throwing out  that name.  To the alleged victims of those acts, please accept my humble apology. This is the second year of this award program, and while I wish that I did not have to learn lessons this way, this event did bring to light a missing piece of this program.  My enthusiasm for getting content creators' names into the public cannot be overshadowed by my responsibility to vet every nominee prior to releasing those names.  Researching individuals by myself for violations of the Wizards of the Coast Code of Conduct is difficult.  And vetting these individuals publicly is not an option due to the possible damage to the integrity of the awards...
