Five Color Horses (M19 Standard)-A Deck of Epic Proportions Part 1

It has been a dream of mine to create a deck so overreaching...so incomprehensibly irresponsibly built...that it mocks sensibility and offends even the least practical MTG player.  And it is a dream of mine that the deck feature horses...and not just any horses...but horses of every color available.

Without regret and in full possession of my faculties, I encourage you to walk this path with me...

JOURNEY WITH ME TO THE LAIR OF THE 5 COLORED HORSES (6 if you count colorless).

Today we begin consideration of how we will tackle the problem of making 5 color horses a reality.

First let's introduce our horses.

Of course we start with our Hour of Devastation lord of all horses, Crested Sunmare.

I know what you're thinking...why not just make a green/white horse deck?  I agree, that would be sensible.  But I didn't sign up to tiptoe through easily trod paths.  NO! I'm here to play it dangerous.  And in the MTG world, it doesn't get any more dangerous than 5 colors.

Each of these horses has it's own benefits.  The white horses (Sunmare and  Shield Mare) work well together turning life gain into 5/5 indestructible horses.  Sunmare also works well with Diamond Mare.  Plague Mare can take out a lot of small creatures quickly and Surge Mare has the added benefit of....you know...it's good because...well...it's a fish?  Anyway, Lightning Mare can't be countered and Vine Mare (a beast of a card) has hexproof and can't be blocked by black creatures.  I think Vine Mare might be one of the best creatures in the entire Core 2019 set.

All of them share one thing that makes 5 colors a bad decision right off the bat.  They each have a double color requirement.  Therefore, we must first talk about our mana base.  There are several choices, but the following I would consider absolutely necessary.

Ruptured Spire can be out on turn 2 with access to every color. Spire of Industry can get you any mana you need for the low low cost of 1 life.  Unclaimed Territory is a tribal land base essential.  You could also make an argument for including the following:
Gift of Paradise can interact in the later game to gain you life and create another horse from Crested Sunmare.  It also can ramp you slightly.

Field of Ruin is one of those cards that can act as both land fetcher and protection from specialty lands that are causing you problems.  It is an essential land in any deck.
If you really want to keep the cost down, delaying a turn for Unknown Shores might be a good choice.
And depending on what smaller creatures you're running, you could use them with Survivors' Encampment to field your ponies.
Painted Bluffs is basically the same as Unknown Shores with the exception of being a desert.  You'd use this if you planned on playing Hour of Promise...which is also a viable addition to the deck.
This could be used to fetch a couple of lands to help propel you into your land base.

I think it's safe to say that green will be a major color in your deck.  There are several ramp creatures that can be used to get you where you need to go.  But I'll save that for another day.

What are your thoughts?

I want to hear what you think...unless you want to warn me that this is a bad idea...in which case...

YOUR WORDS WILL FALL ON DEAF EARS!!
