Taking a look at the new mechanic ASCEND, which offers you the 'City's Blessing' if you control 10 or more permanents. Here are the white cards that utilize the ASCEND mechanic: Of these, Radiant Destiny is the most promising. Radiant Destiny becomes an Always Watching, which was a great pairing with the exert mechanic (or any creature card really). Here are the blue cards with ASCEND: These cards are slightly more impactful than the white ASCEND cards.  The card draw with Kumena's Awakening and Secrets of the Golden City are decent.  Slippery Scoundrel becoming hexproof and unblockable could be a nuisance to an opponent.  But it 's Timestream Navigator that is the most interesting.  While it is a fragile 1/1 creature with a 2 CMC cost, it does provide an interesting late game play option.  This is definitely worth playtesting in different creature based decks.  The green cards are: These two creatures have some real fightin

Five Color Horses (M19 Standard)-A Deck of Epic Proportions Part 1

It has been a dream of mine to create a deck so overreaching...so incomprehensibly irresponsibly built...that it mocks sensibility and offends even the least practical MTG player.  And it is a dream of mine that the deck feature horses...and not just any horses...but horses of every color available. Without regret and in full possession of my faculties, I encourage you to walk this path with me... JOURNEY WITH ME TO THE LAIR OF THE 5 COLORED HORSES (6 if you count colorless). Today we begin consideration of how we will tackle the problem of making 5 color horses a reality. First let's introduce our horses. Improbable Win Condition (Standard Life Swapping)

In the midst of dorking around with Jaya, I ran across an idea that was fairly idiotic, but wanted to capture it before it slipped away into the back alleys of my mind.  I'm not saying this is a good idea...in fact...it is a clear candidate for my 'Improbable Win Condition' segment.  This one relies on some interesting, less-used cards.  The two primary cards that make this deck happen are...  These two high-cost spells have an interaction that is pretty funny when it works.  With both on the battlefield, you can pay 4 at the end of your opponent's turn or at the beginning of your upkeep, dropping your life total to 4, then you can exchange your life total for theirs.  When you untap, you can again exchange your life total with Evra and return to your previous life total. Playing this with Fling is probably a good idea, but I've kept it mono-white to start. The beginning of the deck is here: Let me know what you think.
