666 Subscribers....How about a Modern 666 deck and 40K giveaway?!
In honor and appreciation of my 666 subscribers and because I think it would be funny...
I submit for your approval....the 666 Deck (queue Motley Crue...Shout at the Devil!!)
I'll give you a second if you want to let the song play out in your head.
What you see below is my tribute to reaching 666 subscribers. This is a Modern devil deck. It is tribal only in the sense that almost all of the creatures are the same type (there is one demon), but really the creatures operate independent from one another. Each has a talent that enhances the deck's destructive power, but there aren't a lot of co-dependent synergies. This element makes the 666 Deck stand out a bit from other tribal decks. Whereas you can take out a tribal lord in other decks thus diminishing the team, you cannot do that to this deck. It also has some surprises if you go up against heavy removal. But let's get started.
Center stage is Vexing Devil.
This is probably the most powerful Devil in Magic given its 1 CMC. Getting this out on turn 1 is elating for you and depressing for your opponent. They almost always eat the 4 points of damage to their life total rather than leave this monster out to pummel them in the early game. Either way...you won't be too concerned if this ends up in the graveyard.
Next up is a Gibbering Fiend, which I have found to be a reliable early game beater and a late game, "I don't even have to attack you to kill you" card.
Sin Prodder comes back every upkeep to snatch some life away from your opponent or possibly draw you a card. It's menace is nothing to ignore and most importantly...it is not legendary. You can stack these guys up.
No opponent wants to see Hellrider show up on the battlefield. It virtually plusses up every attacking creature. And with it's haste...it's a force to be reckoned with.
Every Devil band needs a sweet rhythm section and Rakdos is ours. Once you extract some life from your opponent, you can cash in on it by casting Rakdos and reducing the cost to cast creatures. Also it's a 6/6 flyer with trample.....for 4. That's a remarkable bargain.
The rest of the deck requires little explanation. There's a lot of removal and a lot of card draw. There are some specific removal cards in the sideboard of you run into a specific threat, but feel free to change it around. Here's the mainboard in it's entirety:
Oh yeah...don't tell Mark.

Flyer of the Hatebound is a fairly evil card to play. When it returns to the battlefield (after it dies) it does 5 damage. It's ability to deal damage toward any player equal to the power of any creature entering the battlefield from the graveyard is where I'd like to introduce your first win condition. If your opponent hasn't been needled to death by all of the damage from the creatures listed above....he/she will have to deal with it all over again.
Get some Vexing Devils into the graveyard and cast Immortal Servitude on turn 4 (x=1). All of those Vexing Devils will return to the battlefield and force your opponent to choose the damage or the creature. If Flyer of the Hatebound is out when you do this...the amount of damage toward that player increases dramatically.

And my version of the sideboard:
Crypt Incursion I found extremely useful against Griselbrand and other graveyard happy decks. Torch Fiend is there to bust up artifacts along with Abrade. Rite of Belzenlok is a great card to catch your opponent off balance, especially one playing flyers. And Damping Sphere is just an essential sideboard card against Storm and Tron.

OH YEAH....THE GIVEAWAY...
After discussing this with my partner in crime ChuckWagon MTG...we've decided to put together a giveaway that has a different sort of flavor. If you've made it this far reading, then you know what we're giving away. That's right, we're giving away the entire 666 Deck...mainboard...sideboard...sleeved and ready to play.
Rules of the giveaway.
-The giveaway includes all of the cards (not the specific versions) listed as part of the '666 Deck' as promulgated on the MTG Strategist website (www.mtgstrategist.com).
-To enter, you must do the following...
1. Find a Magic the Gathering YouTube content creator with less than 1500 subscribers.
2. Watch one of their videos and leave the comment, "You are MTG".
3. Share that video on Twitter with the following people on the tweet...me (@MTG_Strategist), Chuckwagon MTG (@ChuckwagonMTG), and Mark Rosewater (@maro254).
4. Put the following hashtag on the tweet: #WEAREMTG
-The person who sends the most unique tweets (sending the same video over and over will count as 1) by June 1, 2018 at 4:00 PM Pacific Standard Time will win the deck.
-In the event of a tie, the winner will be chosen by chance from the pool of people who tied.
-Don't lawyer me. I reserve the right to change out any card in the deck at any time.
-I reserve the right to eat the deck cooked in a quesadilla rather than giving it away.
So let's sum this up....
Tweet out as many videos from MTG YouTube content creators as you can. Those content creators have to have less than 1500 subscribers. Add the appropriate people and hashtag on the tweet. Make sure you're not sending the same video over and over again. BOOM, you're entered to win. Remember, this is a race to see who can do this more than anyone else. If you don't frequent the YouTube MTG back alleys, here's list of content creators that I have personally subscribed to. Remember to check to see if they have less than 1500 subscribers (as of today), just in case they made it over the line in the last week or so.
If you are a content creator with less than 1500 subscribers...let me know...I'll add you.
I think this is going to be fun.
