MTG is ALIVE!!!!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!!

As I am sure all of you have seen, MTG standard is no longer a 2 or 3 deck circus.  I won't bore you with the breakdowns that have been trumpeted far and wide.  Mardu has fallen.  Aetherworks Marvel is next.  Zombies are on the rise.  Energy has been revitalized.  So what does this mean?


It means that we, as players and lovers of MTG, are required...nay...are mandated by our sacred order to get out there and build.  There is a moment to breath in this stagnated environment...a moment to create. 


I will play zombies...I will play energy...but I will also play multiple decks of my own creation.  WHY?  Because that is the best part of the game.  If you confine yourself to a couple of decks...if you concern yourself with winning and only winning...if you don't take any chances...then you are not an MTG player...you are a hollow and heartless soul.  Get out there and build.  You will amaze yourself how much fun this game can be.

Taking a look at the new mechanic ASCEND, which offers you the 'City's Blessing' if you control 10 or more permanents. Here are the white cards that utilize the ASCEND mechanic: Of these, Radiant Destiny is the most promising. Radiant Destiny becomes an Always Watching, which was a great pairing with the exert mechanic (or any creature card really). Five Color Horses (M19 Standard)-A Deck of Epic Proportions Part 1

It has been a dream of mine to create a deck so overreaching...so incomprehensibly irresponsibly built...that it mocks sensibility and offends even the least practical MTG player.  And it is a dream of mine that the deck feature horses...and not just any horses...but horses of every color available. MTG Content Creator Awards and Ethics

I would like to first sincerely apologize for advertising a nominee who was fired by Star City Games for allegedly sexually harassing women.  My ignorance on the subject was quickly identified, but it was too late to take back any of the additional pain that I caused or could have caused by  irresponsibly throwing out  that name.  To the alleged victims of those acts, please accept my humble apology. This is the second year of this award program, and while I wish that I did not have to learn lessons this way, this event did bring to light a missing piece of this program.  My enthusiasm for getting content creators' names into the public cannot be overshadowed by my responsibility to vet every nominee prior to releasing those names.  Researching individuals by myself for violations of the Wizards of the Coast Code of Conduct is difficult.  And vetting these individuals publicly is not an option due to the possible damage to the integrity of the awards...
