My new favorite removal.  No repeat offenders. Eliminate that pesky permanent once and for all.  I find this enchantment has saved my hide multiple times by preventing my opponent from immediately casting (or recasting in the case of the gods).

Taking a look at the new mechanic ASCEND, which offers you the 'City's Blessing' if you control 10 or more permanents. Here are the white cards that utilize the ASCEND mechanic: Of these, Radiant Destiny is the most promising. Radiant Destiny becomes an Always Watching, which was a great pairing with the exert mechanic (or any creature card really). Here are the blue cards with ASCEND: These cards are slightly more impactful than the white ASCEND cards.  The card draw with Kumena's Awakening and Secrets of the Golden City are decent.  Slippery Scoundrel becoming hexproof and unblockable could be a nuisance to an opponent.  But it 's Timestream Navigator that is the most interesting.  While it is a fragile 1/1 creature with a 2 CMC cost, it does provide an interesting late game play option.  This is definitely worth playtesting in different creature based decks.  The green cards are: These two creatures have some rea...

MTG Content Creator Awards and Ethics

I would like to first sincerely apologize for advertising a nominee who was fired by Star City Games for allegedly sexually harassing women.  My ignorance on the subject was quickly identified, but it was too late to take back any of the additional pain that I caused or could have caused by  irresponsibly throwing out  that name.  To the alleged victims of those acts, please accept my humble apology. This is the second year of this award program, and while I wish that I did not have to learn lessons this way, this event did bring to light a missing piece of this program.  My enthusiasm for getting content creators' names into the public cannot be overshadowed by my responsibility to vet every nominee prior to releasing those names.  Researching individuals by myself for violations of the Wizards of the Coast Code of Conduct is difficult.  And vetting these individuals publicly is not an option due to the possible damage to the integrity of the awards...

Zendikar Rising A Review of What I Like Best

  In an effort to prepare prepare for the upcoming Standard rotation, I have compiled my thoughts on Zendikar Rising.  These are the cards I'm looking forward to playing.  And since we're losing a lot of the cards that we've grown accustomed to playing, such as Parhelion II, it's probably a good idea to have this discussion now.  This isn't a discussion of power....just a discussion of fun.   Also, nobody but me plays Parhelion II. Let's start with white.  What cards caught my attention?   Any card that has the term "loses the game" or "win the game" in it always grabs my attention.  With double strike and flying, Angel of Destiny is a decent creature on it's own.  It's an Angel Cleric that can make it part of a tribal strategy and it can be mutated...I'm talking to you Cubwarden.
